WHS Scholars Bowl Team Fares Well At AVCTL League Meet

Congratulations to the WHS Scholars’ Bowl team, who placed 3rd at the 12-team AVCTL DIV IV Tournament on Wednesday, January 25. Each school in Division IV may take up to three teams to the league competition.  WHS took two teams this year composed of varsity and junior varsity members. 
 
Both teams have worked hard this season, starting practice on August 24th, and have consistently performed well during tournaments.  The varsity team will represent WHS at Regionals on Thursday, February 2, at Circle.  The top three teams from each of the four Regional sites will compete in the 4A State Scholars' Bowl tournament at Collegiate High School on Saturday, February 11, 2012. 
 
Members of the Regional team are: Seniors Sean Kelly, Damon Langford and Davis Peck and Juniors Alberto Chandler, Billy King and Devin McCue. All members of the Varsity Team are pictured below except for Devin McCue.
